ILLINOIS LICENSE RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS.

LICENSE RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS FOR COSMETOLOGIST'S, COSMETOLOGY TEACHERS, NAIL TECHNICIAN'S, NAIL TECHNICIAN TEACHERS, ESTHETICIAN'S, ESTHETICIAN TEACHERS, HAIR BRAIDERS, AND HAIR BRAIDER TEACHERS

License Renewal Requirements for Illinois Cosmetologist's
1.) May renew that license during the month preceding the expiration date of the license.
2.) To renew the Cosmetologist must complete no less than 14 hours of continuing education within the 2 years prior to renewal. The continuing education course subject mater must be relating to the practice of cosmetology and which must be approved by the Department upon recommendation of the Board.
3.) At least 10 hours of continuing education for a cosmetology teacher, are required to be in subjects relating to teaching methodology, educational psychology, and classroom management or in other subjects related to teaching.
4.) Return a completed renewal application on which they must certify they have successfully completed a minimum of 10 hours of continuing education from a sponsor registered with the Division.

License Renewal Requirements for Illinois Cosmetology Teachers and Instructors
1.) May renew that license during the month preceding the expiration date of the license.
2.) To renew the Cosmetologist must complete no less than 24 hours of continuing education within the 2 years prior to renewal. The continuing education course subject mater must be relating to the practice of cosmetology and which must be approved by the Department upon recommendation of the Board.
3.) At least 10 hours of continuing education for a cosmetology teacher, are required to be in subjects relating to teaching methodology, educational psychology, and classroom management or in other subjects related to teaching.
4.) To renew the Estheticians must pay the required license renewal fee and show proof of completing the required continuing education course credits.

License Renewal Requirements for Illinois Nail Technicians
1.) May renew that license during the month preceding the expiration date of the license.
2.) To renew the Nail Technician must complete no less than 10 hours of continuing education within the 2 years prior to renewal. The continuing education course subject mater must be relating to the practice of nail technology and which must be approved by the Department upon recommendation of the Board.
3.) To renew the Nail Technician must pay the required license renewal fee and show proof of completing the required continuing education course credits.
4.) Return a completed renewal application on which they must certify they have successfully completed a minimum of 10 hours of continuing education from a sponsor registered with the Division.

License Renewal Requirements for Illinois Estheticians
1.) May renew that license during the month preceding the expiration date of the license.
2.) To renew the Estheticians must complete no less than 10 hours of continuing education within the 2 years prior to renewal. The continuing education course subject mater must be relating to the practice of Estheticians and which must be approved by the Department upon recommendation of the Board.
3.) To renew the Estheticians must pay the required license renewal fee and show proof of completing the required continuing education course credits.
4.) Return a completed renewal application on which they must certify they have successfully completed a minimum of 10 hours of continuing education from a sponsor registered with the Division.

License Renewal Requirements for Illinois Esthetician Teachers and Instructors
1.) May renew that license during the month preceding the expiration date of the license.
2.) To renew the Esthetician must complete no less than 20 hours of continuing education within the 2 years prior to renewal. The continuing education course subject mater must be relating to the practice of Esthetician and which must be approved by the Department upon recommendation of the Board.
3.) At least 10 hours of continuing education for an Esthetician teacher, are required to be in subjects relating to teaching methodology, educational psychology, and classroom management or in other subjects related to teaching.
4.) To renew the Estheticians must pay the required license renewal fee and show proof of completing the required continuing education course credits.

License Renewal Requirements for Illinois Hair Braider Renewal
1.) May renew that license during the month preceding the expiration date of the license.
2.) To renew the Hair Braider must complete no less than 10 hours of continuing education within the 2 years prior to renewal. The continuing education course subject mater must be relating to the practice of Hair Braider practice and which must be approved by the Department upon recommendation of the Board.
3.) To renew the Hair Braider must pay the required license renewal fee and show proof of completing the required continuing education course credits.
4.) Return a completed renewal application on which they must certify they have successfully completed a minimum of 10 hours of continuing education from a sponsor registered with the Division.

License Renewal Requirements for Illinois Hair Braider Teachers and Instructors
1.) May renew that license during the month preceding the expiration date of the license.
2.) To renew the Hair Braider Teacher must complete no less than 20 hours of continuing education within the 2 years prior to renewal. The continuing education course subject mater must be relating to the practice of Hair Braiding and which must be approved by the Department upon recommendation of the Board.
3.) At least 10 hours of continuing education for a Hair Braider teacher, are required to be in subjects relating to teaching methodology, educational psychology, and classroom management or in other subjects related to teaching.
4.) Submit the required fee set forth in Section 1175.100.
5.) To renew the Hair Braider must pay the required license renewal fee and show proof of completing the required continuing education course credits.
6.) Return a completed renewal application on which they must certify they have successfully completed a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education from a sponsor registered with the Division.
